QUANTUM PHYSICS and HORTICULTURE

Thousands of years ago it was known that the Earth was BIG, however men of learning like the Greek Democretis knew by intuition that there had to be something very small that make up everything we experience as our world, He called it the Atom.
   In 600 BC. Pathagoras the Greek mathematician taught these Truths to his students that everything seen, heard, smelled, touched and tasted was all based on something unseen.
  Later in time Sir Isaac Newton in his discoveries including and naming “Gravity” when an apple hit him on the head while he was thinking, changed life on the Planet forever!  With his and others discoveries the Industrial age was ushered in.  The age that if power was not working then more power needs be applied.  Still today in Horticulture we feel the industrial age with chemicals, if the plant is sick we buy the defense systems for them.  We throw nitrogen at the plant first, then we throw Iron, and if that doesn’t work we spray it with something in our arsenal of tricks.  We keep doing that time after time and it doesn’t work and either the plant gets well by itself or we throw it away, (It has to survive the doctor’s prescriptions just as we do)
   There is no away!  There is no place to throw anything away, our landfills are filled and the Earth is ailing from the stuff we have attempted to throw away.  Even for Humans, Californians are moving to Oregon, Oregon folk are moving to Washington, Washington folk are moving to Alaska and the Alaskans are worried!
The Industrial age has lasted 400 years until this century, when we began moving into different ages, all happening faster and faster, a lot like our own lives. A vortex.
   Ten thousand years ago we were all “Givers”, the Hunter-Gatherers, living with Nature.  The second job that came along was the HORTICULTURIST, historically that is.  The Shaman and the medicine woman and herb gathers.  They knew their plants and their healing and destructive capabilities.
 “Here try this mushroom.”
   We lasted possibly another couple of hundred thousand years until the “Takers”, arrived on the scene about ten thousand years ago.  The Horticulturist realized certain plants could be “domesticated” such as wheat and began to appropriate land to grow on from the “Gatherers” or hunters, hence, civilization.  Towns and villages began to be “Peopled” because food could be grown and water could be found easily.  This is the whole story of Cain and Able, look it up.
In this century we began at the beginning with the Air Age which has lasted ninety years, then we entered the Atomic Age fifty years ago, and forty years ago we began the age of computers.  This has led to the Age of Information (which has replaced Knowledge, which replaced Wisdom).  Now we are entering the Age of Consciousness, meaning actually we have been Un-conscious along time.
With the new century, great thinkers as Maxwell, Planck, Bohr and Einstein, building on what the Greeks and others before them, realized that everything we experience as “Things” or “Reality” all comes from only Four Forces of Energy.
   The Four Forces of energy are:  Electro-magnetic, all our light comes from this, x-rays, microwaves, infrared and ultra violet, magnetism.
    Gravity, and no one really understands it very well
   Strong Interaction, what keeps the nucleus of an atom together, a vortex.
   Weak interaction, what tears the nucleus apart, chaos.
That’s it!  Everything we experience, the cars, houses, fax-machines, people, computers,dogs, everything comes from those four energies or vibrations!
There is not much that is new to the planet, everything comes from something before it, that is until Einstein, building on Planck’s theory of “Quanta” followed with a totally new startling concept of  E=mc2, and his “General Theory of Relativity”.  Einstein thought he could one day prove that everything comes from one source.  This science is called Quantum Physics replacing the old Newtonian view of our world.
   These thoughts, difficult to understand by scientist have been baffling to the general public.
    E=mc2 means Energy equals Matter equals information or intelligence are all interchangeable. A Banana is Energy, it’s also food, matter, and it has information.  It means everything is the same, from atoms, which makes up everything we see, hear, touch, smell and taste or realize.  Everything vibrates differently at different frequencies, like the bands of a radio, cell phones, t.v. etc.
  Quantum Physics can only predict the possibilities of something happening.
   We have come to the realization that our visible world is neither matter nor Spirit, but an invisible organization of pure energy.   We never end up with things; we always deal with “Interconnections” or relationships.
  When Newton separated us from NATURE, we had to prove everything scientifically and NATURE could not be proved, so it was put aside.
We are a part of NATURE, and when we study NATURE, there is no way around the fact that NATURE is STUDYING ITSELF!
By studying the nature of the ATOM we find out there are even smaller sub-atomic particles called Jewels, Metrons,Quarks, Bozons and Neutrinos, all smaller than the Atom and the atom is so small no one has ever seen one nor do we have the tools to see that small.  We know atoms exist because we can photograph the traces of atoms as they collide with other atoms.  However this only happens when the scientist at, say, Brookhaven National Labs cyclotron looks for the atoms to collide.  When the scientists putting his intention and attention on the idea, it happens, when the scientist goes to lunch and is not focusing on them they never collide and the camera never catches the collision. The atoms small as they are respond to the observers thinking!  That means atomic and sub-atomic particles think!  They Respond.
The step above atoms are the ELEMENTS which are all the properties of the Earth, Hydrogen, Oxygen, Gold, Boron, etc.  Next in size we have Molecules which are combinations of elements such as water made up of two gases, hydrogen and oxygen.  Two gases make water, which is also a solid, a mystery. To get an idea of the size of these particles think of a molecule as an aircraft carrier, an element as a cat sitting on the flight deck and an atom is a Pea deep inside the carrier.  Pretty small stuff!
  So we next get up to MICROBES in size and a microbe is the same size as a typical cell, however there is nothing typical about a microbe.  A Microbe is more complex than the entire city of New York.  All horticulture is based on the mighty microbe.  Microbes are so tiny that a half a million can fit easily into a period at the end of this sentence.  A cup full of healthy soil contains more microbes in it than there are people in the world, by far!  And they THINK!   
  Up from the mighty microbe we find larger soil life, Mites, Protozoa,Nematodes,Arthropards and higher up Worms.  And they all think and have a consciousness.
If nothing else Nature is a Paradox.
  From the work of scientists all over the world we now know more about soils and the interaction of plants in the soil.  Because of scientists like Sir Albert Howard we realize we do not feed a plant (the soil is the stomach of the planet, and we are just learning how to feed it) we feed the soil a plant grows in.  We feed the Microbes in the soil and they in turn feed the plants.  The plants know this and actually send out twenty percent of its stored energy in the form of sugars called polysaccharides that it exudes from its roots to feed the Mycorrhizae that surround every root in the soil.
   They look for Water in the soil, Air and Organic Matter in the soil to generate the food a plant needs to do well.
  From Atoms to plants, everything is interconnected and has a part to play. (See landscaper April 1998 “The Butterfly Effect”)  Plants are alive and think, and are the only entities on the planet that can manufacture their own food and are 100% self-sufficient. In contrast man is only two percent efficient.  So plants feed everything on the planet, are 100% Eco-effective and Eco-efficient.
So when we think of Einstein, we can now realize much of what He and the other Quantum Physicists or Theorists (that brought us the Atom and Hydrogen Bombs and Nuclear reactors with contamination so bad we will have to figure out some way to store the whole mess for from 10,000 to 50,000 years) meant with their investigations into the Atom.
  However the best use of our understanding of the Atom can be in how we grow our food and plants in healthy soils and prepare the way for future generations to enjoy our birthing planet Earth by doing good now.  Plants think and respond to stimuli and we must know this so we can understand.
   Weeds, Insects and Dis-ease are only indicators of Mal-nutrition in the soil.  Feed the soil with the food the microbes like and these three horsemen of the Apocalypse go away on their own.  It’s Simple.
